3. Create and Configure Services in Yeti 4.0

This article explains how to set up new service offerings in your Yeti 4.0 Catalog, configure color coding, assign default client billing rates, and define subcontractor pay structures.

Overview

Services defined in your Catalog represent the core operational offerings (e.g., Plow, Mowing, Sidewalk Clearing, Salt) that your company provides. Catalog services serve as default templates when adding commitments to client contracts or assigning service qualifications to team members and subcontractors.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Access the Services Catalog

  1. Log in to your Yeti 4.0 account.
  2. From the left navigation menu, click Catalog to expand the section.
  3. Select Services.
  4. Click the + Add service button on the top right.

Step 2: Enter Basic Service Details

  1. Name: Enter the official name for the service (e.g., Sidewalk Clearing).
  2. Name for Operator: (Optional) Customize the service name displayed to crews in the mobile app.

Note: This field automatically fills with the service name but can be overridden if needed.

  3. Colour: Select a custom color swatch to represent this service on interactive map views and route lists.
  4. Client Description: (Optional) Enter additional service details or descriptions for client reporting.

Step 3: Configure Default Client Billing Rates

Under the Client section, configure the baseline billing structure:

  1. Client Charge Type: Select the default charge model (e.g., Per visit, Hourly (service), or Not billable).
  2. Client Charge Rate: Enter the default dollar rate (e.g., $500).

Note: Rates set in the Catalog act as default values and can be modified on individual client contract commitments.

Step 4: Configure Subcontractor Pay Structures

If third-party subcontractors will perform this service, set up their default pay structure under the Subcontractor section:

  1. Subcontractor Pay Type: Select the payment structure (e.g., Hourly (service), Per visit, or Not billable).
  2. Subcontractor Pay Rate: Enter the baseline pay rate (e.g., $80).

CRITICAL: If a subcontractor is servicing a site with this service, you MUST select a charge type and rate. Without a rate set, the service will not display in the subcontractor's mobile app.

  3. Minimum (minutes): Set a minimum time threshold if hourly subcontractor billing applies.

Step 5: Save the Service

  1. Review the entered details, default rates, and color assignment.
  2. Click Save Service.

Result: The service is now active in your Catalog and ready to be used as a commitment in contracts, assigned to work plans, or matched to crew service qualifications.
