Why am I getting a connection error when trying to link or reconnect Yeti to QuickBooks Online?

If you see a connection error stating "Sorry, but Yeti didn't connect. Please try again later..." and the developer details mention that you need admin permissions, it means the user account currently trying to link the software does not hold full Administrator privileges inside your company's QuickBooks Online account.

Only a QuickBooks Primary Admin or Company Admin can authorize or reconnect data sharing between Yeti and QuickBooks.

How to Fix the Connection:

You can resolve this using one of the two options below, depending on your company's security policies:

  • Option 1: Have your QuickBooks Admin perform the reconnect (Recommended & Most Secure) Have the person who manages your QuickBooks account (the Admin) log directly into the Yeti web app using their own Yeti credentials. Once logged in, have them navigate to the QuickBooks integration settings and click reconnect, signing in with their own QuickBooks Admin credentials.
  • Option 2: Grant QuickBooks Admin access to the current user Have your QuickBooks Admin log into QuickBooks Online, navigate to Manage Users, and change your specific user profile permission type to Company Admin. Once updated, you will be able to log back into Yeti and successfully complete the sync using your own login credentials.
